DESCRIPTION
This two-day training workshop is designed for public health laboratories utilizing or planning to utilize the QuantStudio™ 5 Dx / 7 Pro Dx Real-time PCR instruments and analysis software for infectious diseases. The training will focus on proper utilization of the instrument including setup and troubleshooting. All aspects of software capabilities including the Security, Auditing and E-signature (SAE) as well as the use of the Native and Diomni software for data analysis will be addressed. In addition to detailed instruction directly from Thermo Fisher Scientific experts, faculty from public health laboratories will also provide real-world experiences and perspectives on the current utilization of these platforms in their laboratories.
AUDIENCE
This intermediate-level workshop is designed for public health laboratory scientists with responsibilities for utilizing the QuantStudio™ Dx instruments and software for data analysis. Participants must be familiar with the general methods for molecular testing and utilizing real-time PCR instrumentation.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of the program, the participant will be able to:
- Describe key differences between Thermo Fisher Real-Time PCR Platforms including ABI7500, QuantStudio 5 and the QuantStudio Dx platforms
- Summarize the role of Security, Auditing and E-Signature (SAE) software
- Describe the similarities and differences between the native software and the Diomni software
- Explain how to analyze and interpret data using both software options
- Generate an Assay Definition File (ADF)
- Explain two examples of public health laboratory implementation of QuantStudio 5 Dx or 7 Pro Dx instrument
