  • 1.  LIMS replacement questions

Hello, Tennessee Dept of Health Division of Lab Services is in the process of replacing our LIMS system(s) - currently operating 3 LIMS systems. We would like to find out if there are other Public Health Labs that are going through the same process, just completed, or planning? We would also like to know if you are procuring/procured a new LIMS, did you going through a full request for proposal (bid) process?

Hi Hugh - NYS DOH Wadsworth Center - we are in the process of modernizing out CLIMS from PowerBuilder to a more modern solution that allows the labs to access their accessions, upload/manage test results, approve and report out on the results. What kind of questions do you have? We are building ours in house.

    Hi Hugh,

The Oregon State Public Health Laboratory is in the process of replacing our LIMS.

We also had JMC (J Michael Consulting) help us do our market research/gap analysis work to create our RFP in 2022/2023. Then our full RFP went out to bid, had 5 vendor demos and did select a new vendor in 2024. We are currently working on a contract with our new vendor for a single lab wide LIMS (communicable disease and newborn screening). We will be transitioning from 4 LIMS/3 different vendors to a single LIMS system for the whole lab.

I've attached our RFP documents, including our requirements lists.

    Best,

    Kevin Weitemier
